Something got into the home PC. Does anyone have a good, and free, and trustworthy, anti-spyware software site?

doesn't the current AVG stop working soon?

I got a notification from my AVG the other day but was busy doing stuff so I read it quickly and deleted it. I remember it saying something about needing to get the new version... anyone? anyone?

You must never let the program update. They are stopping support on version 7.1 or earlier...the current free version is 7.5.

SnB - i was pissed when I saw that message too! If you looked towards the bottom of that popup was a note saying "If you want 7.5 Free, click here."

www.pandasoftware.com includes free sonline canners and anti-virus programs

Another place worth looking is www.webattack.com (unfortunate name I know) but it's got a huge number of freeware and shareware programs available for download. One thing - after you download from there be sure to run any updates since even the associated data sets are not necessarily up to date.

okay.. that's fine then. as long as I can still get it for free, I don't care what the version number is.
