Default Potential wider ME conflict on the horizon?

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/...nis/index.html

• NEW: AP says White House rejects report on Saudi plan to act in Iraq if U.S. leaves
• Source says Saudi king "read riot act" to Vice President Dick Cheney about Iraq
• Saudi Arabia would support Sunnis in Iraq if the U.S. pulls out, the source says
• King Abdullah also is said to oppose talks between the U.S. and Iran

Scary...if the conflict worsens when we pull out, we might see Saudi Arabia step in and side with the Sunnis. Already it appears they have financial backing by the people od SA. On the shiite side you have Iran, and its population likely already assisting the Shiites in Iraq. It doesn't seem too far fetched to come up with a scenario that puts Iran against Saudi Arabia.

It could get ugly, buy your hybrid vehicles now.

Another conclusion would be: to stay in Iraq, to prevent future ugliness, and try to clean up our current mess.

Agreed, but the administration after three years has yet to indicate a desire to this, why would that change?

You're right. Ever since we went in there, this administration has been itching to pull out as quickly as they could.

This is so terrible to think about. Almost paralyzing, in a way.

I predict New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI will consolidate and try to annex ME through force.

Now, be fair. The president is now in the process of reviewing all the information to see if we need to change strategies...and he'll get back to us by early January!!
