Many casinos have done that. One casino out near San Bernardino (San Manuel) closed its poker room a year or two ago. Had to drive another 30 miles to Morongo when I was out there watching a nephew play a LL tournament.
When I was in Palm Springs over XMas/NY's week for an "engagement" party at a casino, I had to drive out, past two other casinos, to get to a casino with a poker room.

Another one down San Diego way (Pala) shrunk its room in half.

They never really have been money-makers, relative to slots. But, those places should consider that non-poker-playing partners of poker players will go where their poker-playing partners can enjoy themselves and not get financially bled slowly by a slot machine.

Do most poker players have spouses who are spending money elsewhere on the property? Or is it just some of them? I get the impression many of them are traveling alone but don't know as I don't play.

Well, there are some. Surely not all, as many are incel.

But, it's something my wife and I consider when spending our hard-earned money (not comp'ed) on rooms, food, and gaming at a casino. As ordinary, middle-bell-curve folks, we cannot be alone in this philosophy.

There's the Cabazon outlet mall just down the road from the Morongo Casino.

Yeah but s lot of poker players are cheap incels. I'm saying there aren't enough of them with spouses that the poker room makes much sense.

Well, what is happening is that some are closing, and the rest pick up those closed places' regular customers.

Just saying there is a (small) holistic reason for having poker rooms, not just the silo reason for not having them.
I mean, those places are a lot nicer than the huge, impersonal, $6-rake, take the bad-beat-jackpot-before-dealing poker rooms in town.

Yes, I can see why YOU might prefer to play in the casino. I'm saying the casino doesn't prefer you play there...

I get that. I'll take my wife (please!) with me.

So my friend there this weekend says only like a fifth of people are wearing masks, and only Caesars properties are requiring masks of everyone.
Well, on the one hand, most of the cases will show up in other states' data...

Friend flew out Friday from LA on Frontier and back today on southwest. Said Friday plane was empty, Sunday plane was packed.
