Well I decided to keep it for myself, and I like it. The sound is probably comparable to a cheaper bluetooth speaker that I have, but I like that I don't have to mess with my phone to start up some music. The voice recognition works well, but I don't see myself using it for anything other than music. You can ask about the weather or other basic questions, but Alexa is no substitute for Google.

I'm happy with it for $99, but the "list" price of $199 seems way too high.

Isn't the same functionality available for free via Google Now on iPhone or Android?

I think the draw of this is that you don't have to have your phone out and can ask for information hands-free.

I didn't order mine the moment I got my invitation because I was in the process of moving. I waited until the next morning and my delivery estimate was pushed back over 6 weeks.

This was a few weeks ago. Still have over three months until delivery.

I ordered my echo about 4 weeks ago and just noticed that my expected ship date is in July. I almost want to cancel due to the ridiculous timing.
