Why do you guys allow your womenfolk to use your remotes?

If my wife can watch Friends DVDs all evening, it makes it much easier for me to go golfing.

No kidding. I grew up in a town right on the border with Michigan. I should see if I can get a PO Box or something there. It's easy enough to pop across the border when I'm visiting my parents.

is the additional action button 'watch DVR/PVR'? or is it something else?

Watch TV, Watch DVD, Listen to Music are the 3 on the 659, right?
Yes, those are the three on the 659. I've added a "Play Video Game" action that you access through the display. To use it it's just two button presses instead of one.
The action buttons on the 688 are: "Play Video", "Play Music", "Play DVD", "Watch TV".

Sweet, since I hardly use the VCR, I might have the Play Video set up as the video game (if possible - if not, I'll make a 2 button action like you did).

First of all, I don't have a wife....second of all, this is all in regards to when I'm not home. When I'm home, I have the remote. If she doesn't like what's on, she can watch something else in another room. It would be nice to eliminate the calls of, "why don't I have any sound?" and "what input is the DVD player again*?"

* one DLP TV (the one in the living room) allows you to label the inputs, the DLP in the bedroom does not.

Sarnia? Windsor? the Sault? I'm a windsor native. I used to work in Detroit but commuted from Windsor (I'm now in NYC), I used to be that shipping friend.

Sarnia actually. Port Huron, Michigan is just a bridge crossing away.

Got the 659 when I got my new TV. It's pretty sweet. What do you go with WA?

Wait a sec, you may not need to buy a new remote after all. Just turn your ipod into a remote.
