Thinking of taking the Orange Line from Midway to State/Lake and walking to the hotel. What do y'all think?

Seems doable. It's not too far of a walk from there to the hotel. Although, if I had the choice between doing that and expensing it, I'd probably expense it.

Actually, I think I'd just take the Orange line. It's really not far. Are you really just going to go to sleep once you arrive? We can hang

Orange line isn't bad. I'll commute in from the blue line. You'll have a Chicago-style (slight) hill.

Some attractions near the hotel:
  • Lakefront running/cycling trail
  • Walking distance to Magnificant Mile, Navy Pier
  • Art Institute, my top museum recommendation
  • Lake Shore East Dog Park, better for reading
  • Millenium Park/Grant Park, better for people-watching. Features The Bean, Buckingham Fountain, Lurie Garden

For Wednesday dining, I'm going to stretch out and walk the mile to Lou Malnati's for pizza. Let me know if you want to join so I don't leave without you. Giordano's is popular with tourists and more convenient. Foodies would enjoy a half mile hike to The Purple Pig.

The Purple Pig is really good. Lou Malnati's is really good too, assuming you want 4000 calories.

Though with the mile walk, it's only a net 3900 calories.

Great time so far!

I will be going to the hotel bar after the official reception (6-7pm) this evening, until I fall over from getting up at 3am CT. Woo.
