Default Dash Cam

i'd like to get a dash cam. it should turn on and record automatically, have night vision, record on a loop, do time/date stamping

suggestions? i'll google it, but looking for actual AO experience suggestions too.

TIA

cheap as possible while providing adequate evidence/documentation for accidents/driver craziness if necessary

I use two of these in my car, one in the front and one in the back:

http://www.spytecinc.com/mobius-1080...on-camera.html

The software is pretty easy to use, but it's super basic (which is what I wanted). I replaced the battery inside with a capacitor so that it doesn't explode in the sunlight from overheating, and it's set to start recording whenever it receives power (i.e. when the car starts) and stops when I turn off the car. A 16GB microSD card holds a few hours of footage, which is more than I need (I only want it to record stuff for review in case of an accident).

You can connect it using an add-a-fuse from any auto parts store and a USB adapter like this one:

I didn't even bother getting a mount, I just rubber banded it to the underside of my rear view mirror, you can't even tell it's there.

Saw this on Amazon today, if you're still looking for a (seemingly) turn-key solution:

Very useful when you are involved in an accident that you think is not your fault, the video footage can be used to support your case.

After taking a look at what the data charges would be, auto-upload wouldn't be such a good idea. But it would be nice to have a dashcam that could upload the previous 30 seconds with the touch of a button, plus the next few minutes.
