Since this thread is active again, I want to share.

I changed the look of my phone a few weeks ago. I love making my own icons.

If you buy Pixel through your carrier does it still have bloatware?

Verizon is the only carrier to carry the Pixel and it has VzW messenger+ and a permanently locked boot loader.

Get the Google version.

Verizon warning on Galaxy S8 purchased from someone other than Verizon.

The Verizon voice mail app that gives you a notification when someone leaves a voicemail isn't available for download from Verizon, and no equivalent app is on the Samsung skin. This leaves you without any notification that someone has left a voicemail. When complaining to Verizon through various venues, I've received the consistent message that I should have purchased the phone through Verizon. I forget the wording, but it was almost word for word the same message whether I was complaining in a Verizon company store, calling Verizon, or some sort of web interaction.

The problem can be solved with a 3rd party app, such as YouMail or Google Voice.

I really hate Verizon. I managed to dump Comcast completely. Next, Verizon.

I pre-ordered the Pixel 2 XL because I have no willpower.

Not sure how the jump to a big phone is going to go. My pants are pretty tight so things could get uncomfortable unless the fanny pack makes a triumphant return to being fashionably acceptable

You'll need to start wearing a jacket year 'round with a breast pocket.

After month, you'll wish it was a little bigger. And fanny packs are back.

Just a word of caution: If you get a Pixel and have AT&T, be aware that AT&T won't enable a couple of features (WiFi/VoLTE calling, in particular).

I've had a Pixel 1 for many months, and I'm on AT&T because other carriers' reception is lousy at my house. I'm content with my purchase even with the first generation's big bezels, and probably won't upgrade to the Pixel 2 unless/until the battery shows signs of going.
