Default Pandemic Anxiety Poll and Mental Health Thread

Hows everyone holding up? I hope you you and your loved ones are doing ok.

While we are doing our best to remain calm, Ive noticed an increased tension in my household, and was wanting to see how my fellow outpost members were doing.

Please continue to post in the COVID-19 thread, but I wanted to create a new one to discuss our mental health. Feel free to post ideas on how you are keeping sane. We are doing a family game night at my house tonight.

I'm a depressive pessimistic misanthrope, so I'm actually pretty golden right now. How everybody is seeing the world right now, realizing that the thin social veneers are stripping away more quickly than anybody ever thought possible, and how delusional it was to forget even for a day that there are no guarantees that everything you hope in or count on won't crumble at a moment's notice?

That's me every day. This is what I trained for.

Maybe need a poll option for "Doing about the same but actually slightly better since the world situation now more closely matches my normal, workaday Weltanschauung."

I liked being delusional about how the world could crumble at any moment. I'm a stressed out anxiety ridden person to begin with. This is terrible!!!!!!!! put me in the highest anxiety level bucket.

I kept the delusional up for a while by entirely ignoring fdsafdsa's thread thinking oh boring virus that will never reach us. the delusion was great. now sucks. IT SUCKS!

I think I got over a hump after everything got cancelled. Feels like people are taking it seriously and doing something. That said still worried about people like my parents who plan to still go to their megachurch that is still holding services.

i'm extremely worried about my father who is currently in a nursing home. there is nothing we can do about that though! they finally closed down the nursing home to outside visitors entirely, but that is still no guarantee. the staff could still bring it in. they are supposedly screening them as they arrive at work in some way, so hopefully that's enough.

i'm also worried about him when he gets out of the nursing home. he's in there for rehab, so might be getting out at some point. i'm a big pile of worry.

That's quite a paraphrase. Maybe instead say that I feel like slightly less of a mess, now that the world is as much of a mess as I normally am. Is that better?

and if I get it myself, i'm not even sure wtf to do. I live alone. I mean, I guess that's actually good cause I can't spread it to someone who lives with me, but bad cause i'm alone.
