Default Face Masks and Fashion

Given that wearing a face mask is going to be the new normal, I am expecting a wide variety of makes and models to be available (in lots of fabrics and colours) other than medical grade ones, so am curious as to what othera have so far tried.

So far I have tried:

1. Silk ones (expensive but good for hot climates. Easiest on the skin and nose as well. I got mine from a company in Italy)

2. Cotton (good for every day use. I do get some rubbing issues with these though)

3. Standard (the mass produced hospital ones which I find very flimsy but are obviously designed to only be used once)

4. Sport (expensive as well due to the materials used but seem to be ok for short term exercise outside)

I usually go with Navy Blue and Black. Haven't really tried any other colour schemes.

Not sure if this is the same where you're at as US, but I got one of these when I had to go to the doctor, and used it 2 or 3 times, then it got smelly and I gently washed it in the sink and used it again. I think I've washed it three times, and still looks ok. I'm keeping this in my car for quick stops at the store, not for wearing for longer periods.

I got some cotton masks from a friend. I'm still not enjoying my warm, moist breath being trapped next to my face.

initially used a couple hospital ones i had from visiting my father in the hospital right before this pandemic spiraled. looks like the ones borg posted. it was okay, but disposable. an ao friend nicely made me 2 masks. i think they are cotton? currently using them. also okay and cute patterns, but would waaaaaaaay rather have nothing on my face than any of these things.

I have 3 multi-layer washable cloth masks I wear most, generally any time when I might be close to strangers. I hand wash these occasionally. I have a couple of medical masks I wear only when shopping so they don't get a lot of use. I have a couple of single layer cloth masks my sister gave me that I haven't worn yet because they don't seem very protective.

All masks are pretty hot and uncomfortable now that the weather is warm.

A fair chunk of people still think this way.

Even in Europe.

But that's going to change quickly due to societal pressures.

Luckily I don’t live around anyone and my status quo is distance by choice.
