Except this was a non-cop and unpaid leave which is what makes it curious.

It's not standard for dashcams to be on all the time. Some are switched on automatically only if the blue lights are flashing or the door is opened, apparently neither of which happened before the woman was shot.

Yes, it should take a deliberate action to switch it OFF, not a deliberate action to switch it on.

And switching it off should only last the lesser of 5 minutes or the time before they hit the on button again.

They released the bodycam footage of the officer in Minnesota that shot those two dogs. This guy needs to be charged for lying on a police report for saying the dogs "charged" him. This is the most obviously non-threatening body language you could possibly expect from a dog meeting a stranger.

Minneapolis police are on a roll. Justine Diamond shot by, well... let's just leave out unimportant personal details about the rookie cop who shot her, responding to her 9-1-1 call.

Quote:
Harrity drove the squad car that responded to Damond’s 911 call with Noor in the passenger’s seat. With lights off, they drove through the alley behind Damond’s residence. Harrity told the BCA that he was startled by “a loud noise” immediately before Noor shot past him out the open driver’s side window of their squad car at Justine Damond as she approached.

Based on the publicly available information, the shooting of Ms. Damond is indefensible. Not a single fact has been brought forward to suggest that Ms. Damond’s shooting was lawful. Noor’s refusal to talk suggests he cannot defend his actions.
