Passed in sixth attempt. Yes, sixth attempt!

One person that I must say thank you is Steve. When I decided to give up after the Fall 2018 sitting, came back and approached you again, you still provided full support to me for trying this sitting. Thatís not just the XP study manual itself, but also how to improve my mentality to get well prepared for this exam.

I am sure that I cannot finish the SOA journey without your support. Thanks again, Steve!

What a crazy journey you have been on. SDM knocked you down, but you got back up and threw a knock-out punch this sitting. NEVER stop fighting!

XP premium package SDM pass rate in Spring 2019 was 91.7%!

Using anything less is clearly a very poor strategic decision

Failed for a 3rd time. Though DontGiveMeFive's testimonial is inspirational, if there's anything this exam taught me it was the Sunk Cost Fallacy and knowing when to walk away. After seeing everyone else at my company who was CFE track drop or exchange for a different path it's fairly clear it's not worth the anguish attempting to fit a mold that ultimately does one no service professionally from an academic perspective.

Failed. Not surprising. Wowzers, these are tough exams. This is my first fail so far

Welp...back at it I guess. Sucks.

By the way, I got this email the night before results came out. I thought it was a good sign.
Quote:
Hello Bob,

The CFESDM committee reviewed your question and has given the following response:

During the grading of the Fall 2019 sitting of the CFESDM exam, it was determined that one of the figures required to calculate the answer to question 8b was not provided in either the case study or the question itself. While every effort is made to validate that questions are of the highest quality, missing information remains possible. The grading of this question was adjusted to account for the missing information as to ensure that no candidate was unfairly penalized. Candidates who were able to provide the correct formula and demonstrate an understanding of how to use it were awarded full marks.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Best Regards,

SOA Education Department Staff

Where do I go to get the 10 minutes back that I spent trying to find what I needed?

Agreed, now a candidates performance isn't just based on their understanding, but also how they react during a timed environment to incorrect/misleading information. Had the same thing happen last sitting with a question regarding "Sequential Analysis" and it cost me a pass. Sounds like the term Defective Question is taken with a grain of salt.
