About GAD
The Government Actuary's Department (GAD) is a non-ministerial Department that provides actuarial advice to governments and organisations in the public sector in the UK and around the world. Our mission is to support effective decision-making and robust reporting within government as the first choice provider of actuarial and specialist analysis, advice and assurance.

GAD is responsible for the provision of actuarial advice to the UK Government and a range of public service departments regarding their pension provisions and risk management. GAD operates with a number of internal teams with responsibility for specific areas of advice.

Why we are recruiting
Meeting the needs of our expanding clientele is important to us and as a result we are now looking to recruit and grow our organisation to meet these demands.

Our part-qualified actuarial trainees may be employed within any of the teams and would be expected to rotate through various teams during their career:
• Public Sector Pension Scheme (PSPS) / Specialist Actuarial
• Actuarial Services Team
• Insurance & Investment

Required qualifications and experience
This opportunity is suitable to aspiring actuaries who has made significant progression through the actuarial examinations and has completed all the Core Principles subjects. This is also for those who have experience of working within an actuarial environment and checking models and analysis including high level reasonableness reviews.

Successful applicants will be adaptable and analytical. They will also demonstrate their capability in problem solving and be excellent team players.
