Played a bit more Assassin's Creed Origins last night. Up to about 4 hours I would say now. Finished all the starting village objectives. Got a little bit more comfortable with the combat system, but not very much so. It is very chaotic in group engagements, particularly with people on camels/horses, and hard to tell who is aiming at you, when you need to block, and keep your character in range to attack. I'm only playing on normal difficulty right now so it isn't a big deal, but it would be really tough to deal with these engagements in harder difficulties I'm sure. Seems archery is quite strong in this game, have been using bow and arrows frequently. I scrapped a bunch of shields and weapons for parts when I got a higher leveled one, but didn't realize you could go to the blacksmith and upgrade a lower quality shield to your current level. Probably scrapped too many items since some had unique capabilities.

For instance, GTA V was released on both the PS3 and the PS4, so itís possible to get duplicate platinums if you do everything in both versions. A few games have region locking too, so the US version of the game gives one platinum, the European version gives another, the Japanese version gives a third, etc. In addition to that, a few developers noticed the trophy hunter trend and started intentionally designing easy platinums. These games are completely devoid of anything interesting other than the platinum trophy (and all the bronze/silver/gold trophies), but the trophy hunters will buy the game anyway just to add the ten minute platinum to their collection (e.g., My Name is Mayo).

I like trophies because they add an element of replayability to a game I donít want to end, but I donít go crazy with it. I got a PS3 back in 2008, so Iíve had more than a decade of trophy capable games, but Iím only at nine platinums. Thatís less than one per year. I was sitting at just six platinums a couple months ago before I played through the Spyro PS4 remaster of the original PS1 games, but I got three platinums for the trilogy all within a span of a month. Each game was pretty short, and I had already played the PS1 versions a bunch of times twenty years ago, so they were all quick platinums.
I'm part of the trophy whore community, but not at the elite levels. I like to buy games that have a Vita and a PS4 trophy list that are separate and platinum both. Once or twice I think I've done PS4 and Vita both from two different regions (I have a NA account and an EU account) so that's 4 platinums. I only have 37 so I'm not super into it, but if I see an easy game that's cheap and I can get 2 or 4 plats with minimal effort I'll sometimes do it. To me it's a balance with the games like AC:Odyssey, where you can play like 100 hours and still be nowhere near the plat. So, it's really just plat arb.

Effectively, the Switch Lite is not able to "switch". Maybe it needs a better name.

For anyone considering the Switch, or who already has it, I would also suggest:

1. Octopath Traveler
2. Tetris 99
3. Diablo 3 (it's really fun on the switch, but obviously not an exclusive)

There's a new model of Switch coming out, but the only interesting part is the 2 extra hours of battery life

In some sense the new old switch (because its a new model of the older switch) is more portable now than switch lite because of the extra battery life.

Farts, now I have to decide if I want a Switch now, a Switch later, or a Switch Lite.

Any word on when the new old version comes out?

I think they said its coming out in August in the UK. Which they think means it is also coming out in the US in August.
