A bit surprised I'm the only one to vote November. September and October are great, but by November the leaves are off the trees and it's chilly, rainy, and dark.

But it's the beginning of the holiday season!

Yeah, but since we're all fat with turkey we don't notice.

It's a close call between freezing-cold January & February.

At least in January I get 2 holidays and the company flies me to sunny Florida for a week so I can do my work in a hotel. Fresh off holiday time, I am ready to update everything for a new year of data. There is also a local bridge tournament.

February is just 1 holiday, no Florida, no bridge tourney, just more freezing cold.

February it is.

Ah, this may be part of the difference. Thanksgiving is in October!

I would have picked November before I had too many kids and started to hate Christmas.

By February, the days are getting noticeably longer and it feels like the end is near - even if it really isn't (we often get our worst snowstorms in March where I live).

This has to be regional. If I lived somewhere super hot, I might not like summer, but honestly even where I live it's pretty crappy and I love enjoying the longer days from the comfort of my air conditioned home/office/car. If I lived in Canada, I probably wouldn't like winter as much as I do. I'm happy in 30-40 degree weather, no so much when it's <20.
