It is a booklet of lined paper. You are allowed to rip out pages if you want.

I didn't rip last sitting.
I felt unorganized my first sitting when I ripped.

They change up the colours actually. I guess so you can't sneak in answers.

Why would you want to rip all of the pages out of your booklet during the read through? In case you need to add more information to a question on a separate page, but have already started the next question on the next page?

You have to separate them to put them into the answer envelope at the end of the exam, and many (most?) proctors will give you a couple minutes to get it down before the exam starts. Better to do it then rather than wait till the end of the exam.

Paul is it compulsory that you separate them before putting in envelope? My proctor told me I didn't need to.

Nope, not strictly necessary, it's just "common practice".

What I should have said was: most people end up separating them throughout the exam, so it's easier to do that work up front. If you leave the packet all together, though, then no need.
