Default Soulmates...

I know I've gone on and on in my other (several hundred) threads about me, my ex-boyfriend (formally SO), and my ex-ex-boyfriend (formally ex-boyfriend), but, none of them seem particularly appropriate for the purposes of talking about the *new* obsession in my life. Not that I will get into that in much detail here either - the poor boy might be mortified if I do that - but I do feel myself closing off a little too much lately out of fear of swoon vomiting all over the internet. But why should I be afraid? It's a beautiful love story after all. And lot's of people like those...

So what does the AO think about soulmates? I see maybe 1 or 2 threads pop up from the past, but they are too old and too irrelevant to bump now. I've never used the term "soulmate" before really (...or have I? I might have referred to ex-ex as such before in passing, but, it's not really a thing I much believe in - does it not, in fact, require a belief in the "soul" in real, technical terms? Dear god, this is going to turn into a religion thread, isn't it . Keep it to *love* as much as you can people, else I will split).

Anyways, I was told by a couple of important people in my life that, my ex^2 was the *right person, but at the wrong time*; my most recent ex, by all means then, was my *wrong person, but at the right time*. And, quite frankly, I never thought it was going to be a thing for me to actually find the *right person, at the right time*. But I did. And suddenly words like "soulmate" are taking on a whole new meaning for me. It's not that - the technical meaning of the word is suddenly resonating with me, it's just that - I'm at a loss for the right words to use to describe the thoughts and feelings that I'm currently experiencing (EDIT: FOR ODDSOX !). All I can say is that, I've never felt this way before, and that, nothing I've said about ex(2) before comes even close to what it feels like now...

It goes both ways(ish) people. I'm not a nut. Stop me anytime if I'm embarrassing you, boo.

actuarial me says soul mates is silly, we're merely complicated computers and so there are loads of potential matches. Besides, if some rando person is your soulmate across the world then chances are you'd never even come close to running into them.

The other side of me experienced "feeling" like I would one day be married to this friend in high school who I am in fact married to today.

I value relationships and would like to find a good one. I miss having my old roommates around - that's basically what I had, minus all the romantic stuff.

FYI, AO romances never work out...except when they do! Wishing you the very best!
