To be honest exam 9 is a redundant exam. Much of its material can be moved to exam FM/MFE/IFM (for CAPM and bond stuff) and exam 7 (for capital allocation and ERM). I see no point of having a standalone financial exam which meaninglessly increase our travel time to FCAS.

Downloaded all of the source materials and bought Brehm. Time to roll up the sleeves and get to work (lightly). I'm hoping to get through all of the Section A papers before the new year. Would really love to not be sprinting at the last second on this one; I have a feeling that would be worse than what it feels like to come down to the wire on 8 and 9.

Where did you get Brehm? I thought the study kit is not available yet.

I'm enjoying my first summer in almost a decade without needing to worry about an exam. Don't intend to start again until 2020 imo.

Crap. I thought it was just a book that you buy online, and I got lazy and didn't check the syllabus. I think I'm ok though.

I think I didn't bother since Grossi on 8 and BKM on 9 were books, so I just figured Brehm wasn't a study kit item.

Actually I'm inclined to buy the book because of my work. But I can't seem to find where except on Amazon...Can you tell me where did you get it?

Yeah you can just buy the book. It's been on the syllabus for a long time, highly doubt they'll remove it.

Though maybe they do shake up the syllabus at some point due to the whole NAIC thing, but that will probably take a while.

Thanks. The CAS already announced that the syllabus won't change for 2020, so I think I should be good!

Alright folks... I'm in for 7 in the spring. I'm going to use CF/RF and probably start studying the week after the Hawaii CAS meeting..
