If he has the hormone profile of a post-menopausal woman, this would be pretty spot on.

In the interview he was being pretty dodgy on whether or not he planned to get the bottom surgery, and also was evasive when Diane touched on the subject of his getting approached by men when he went out at night dressed up. Given the sexual free-for-all that was the 1970s I think the jury is still out on who Caitlyn Jenner will be dating.

Exclamation If she hasn't gotten the surgery, she probably shouldn't.

It now appears that our long-ago decision [to stop doing sex-reassignment surgery] was a wise one. A 2011 study at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden produced the most illuminating results yet regarding the transgendered, evidence that should give advocates pause. The long-term study—up to 30 years—followed 324 people who had sex-reassignment surgery. The study revealed that beginning about 10 years after having the surgery, the transgendered began to experience increasing mental difficulties. Most shockingly, their suicide mortality rose almost 20-fold above the comparable nontransgender population. This disturbing result has as yet no explanation but probably reflects the growing sense of isolation reported by the aging transgendered after surgery. The high suicide rate certainly challenges the surgery prescription. . . .
and I'll cross-post to 6YO&etc.

I don't want to read this study, so I'll just ask. Did they follow a control group of transgender folks without the surgery? I'm guessing that living as a gender other than your physical sex is a challenge, and that no matter what, as you live longer and experience more frustration with questions about who you are, it could lead to these findings. They are comparing to non-transgendered as the control, so I don't know that you can say this result is related to the surgery.

The author of the "study" and the author of the linked article both do not believe transgender people exist. So, in their mind, the general population is an acceptable control group.

I linked it the study in the other thread.
