Do auto insurance companies charge the same rates to men and women?

When insurance should be higher for men, it is, when insurance should be higher for women, everyone loses their minds.

I'll say this, Europe's mandatory rule that annuity rates be the same for men and women doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Also, Canada recently passed a rule omitting sanitary product sales from having sales tax charged on them. That makes no sense to me, the argument was it was discriminatory to tax them, because only women buy them. That is really really stupid to me, the point of sales tax is it applies to everything.....

Huh. I'm not familiar with any case studies were an auto insurance company rated women higher than men and got significant public push back. I'd be interested in reading about that. Do you have any links to examples?

To me, companies can provide whatever compensation/benefit package they wish, and if they want to provide an additional benefit to stay-at-home parents, good for them. A little unfair to unmarried employees or employees with employed spouses, but not a big deal. My issue is that the article is extremely rude and condescending. If a google employee posted an article talking about how great their free lunches are and how convenient it is to not have to cook for themselves, I'd have about the same reaction.
