Default Actuarial Mathematics for Life Contingent Risks by Dickson, Hardy, & Waters

Dear Mary,

When will your new book available at which publisher? And when will the book become the new required book of MLC? May you give us the table of content and preface for reference?

We are still working on a final draft, so it will be a few months before it's published.

There is no indication whether the SOA will adopt it -- we have not asked them to do so and they haven't seen a copy of the manuscript. It's quite a departure from the current syllabus, so it is quite possible that it will not be adopted. We do hope some universities will like it enough to use it, and it's also been drafted for self-study purposes, just in case any of the professional organisations around the world happens to like it.

I'm assuming this will replace the cinderblock that is the Bowers book at UW (I think one of the authors might have some pull there).

Why did the SOA adopt AMLCR?
