In addition, IFM also includes the following topics from corporate finance:
- Mean-Variance Portfolio Analysis
- Asset Pricing Models
- Market Efficiency and Behavioral Finance
- Investment Risk and Project Analysis
- Capital Structure

50% of the IFM questions are from derivatives, and the remaining 50% are from corporate finance. The exam will be offered as a CBT exam, consisting of 30 questions with a 3-hour time limit.
Thanks for the breakdown and clarification. Probably will just wait until July then.

Is it just me or does this exam tell less on understanding the concepts but more on how good you are at applying formulas and visualizing profit/payoff diagrams?

Compared to all the other prelims, I feel like this is the most "formula based" exam. I feel like I'm just plugging and chugging numbers.

That seems to be both what I had heard coming into this exam and what I'm experiencing so far. So my plan is to finish the Coaching Actuaries videos by the end of this month and spend five weeks doing nothing but problems and practice exams and rewriting formulas over and over.

Just passed P last week so I’m gonna shoot for this in March. I used CA videos for P and FM but I don’t like the coach for MFE as much as Kester so I think I’m gonna do TIA for this one and then Adapt. I have a light semester so I think I’ll try to get through the material in 2-3 weeks and then Adapt until the exam date.

For CA MFE video lessons, note that Dave Kester taught the first four sections of the course, and then Dr. Weishaus (author of the ASM MFE manual) taught the remaining sections. Also, the video lessons also include review videos (led by Dave and me), which aim to concisely summarize key testable concepts.

There are 13 sections in total, 4 of which are taught by Dave.
