Default October 2018 MAS-II

I figured the Exam C forum was the most appropriate to begin a thread on MAS-II.

Also, TIA has indicated that their MAS-II seminar will not be ready in time for the Fall sitting. Here is the exact wording in their message:

Quote:
There will be a seminar, but it may not launch in time for use on the Fall 2018 sitting.

So that's less than desirable.

Coaching Actuaries' seminar won't be available until 2019. The Weishaus ASM manual isn't expected to be ready until November, according to the publisher. The Actex manual is currently expected in July/August.

Long story short, not any good study options, aside from purchasing the source texts and hoping a manual is published soon enough to be worthwhile...

Default Challenge Accepted!

Anyway, where will you be doing practice questions from? CAS should provide a study kit or something.

Currently I’m just doing practice questions out of the source material.

The Actex manual is now expected to come out 7/20, which is in plenty of time for the exam. I put in my order today for the source materials and the manual. I've never used an Actex manual before (or any manual, actually--TIA only), so we'll see how this one goes.

Looks like the new date for ACTEX is 7/27 according to customer service, or 8/1 according to their actuariallearning.com distribution site.

I actually find the first source material (Tse) has been an easy and straightforward read and should be fine to start with.
