Possible scenarios:
1. HR asks you things like do you rent vs own? Relocation situations. Other details needed to finalize the offer.
2. HR wants you to talk to another person you didnt have a chance to talk to.

Either case, they will ask you if you are still interested, your other offers and interviews, etc.

Friend said it was to ask about how the interview went and to say they are interviewing other candidates, but to let them know if he had other offers.
