My notes for passing exam P
Here is the pdf I used for reviewing for Exam P. I can't upload the raw tex as it exceeds the upload limit by a few K. If you want it, send a message or email and I'll be happy to provide it.

When you talk about cont. dist., Pr(X = x) = 0 not F'_{X}(x).
Also V(aX + bY + c) = a^2 V(X) + b^2 V(Y) if X and Y are ind. (minor issues I guess)

Thanks!
I had the generic Var expression (that includes covariance) on p. 5, but added a note on p. 2 that this was a special case. Thanks also for noticing my "lazy writing" of the relation between f_X and F_X, that implied an incorrect relationship to Pr(X=x). I corrected these minor points and uploaded a new attachment. Don

In the first line of Section 2.1.1 the lower limit of the integrals should be .
In Section 2.1.3 the Markov inequality requires that X be a nonnegative rv and a>0. On a minor note, in Section 3.4 your formula for the pdf of a transformation of continuous rv's requires the transformations to be strictly monotonic on their support. Thanks for the feedback optimizer. I have noted the Markov requirement and changed the integration limits.
Regarding the inverse transformation, I agree this is a minor point. This was *MY* review sheet, I hope it's useful to others. For me it was a given that a function must be 11 to have a definite inverse so I didn't bother writing that explicitly. I just wanted this to be something to remind me of the Jacobian and form of the transform. Thanks for your attention to detail. I'm glad there were only these few nitpicks on the document. Cheers!

Word Document with my Exam P notes. I wrote verbal descriptions that helped me remember and understand the various distributions. Also included are a number of shortcut formulas I found very helpful.
