Huh, I thought that was the name of the cat in the Sally, Dick, and Jane books, but I'm wrong. Their cat is named "Puff". I guess the cat wasn't very memorable.

Yes, I had to read those in elementary school. What horrible horrible books, with incredibly dull stories, restrictive stereotypes, and all based on the "look/say" method of reading, without any nod to phonics. I suppose Dr. Seuss also subscribed to the "look/say" method, but at least he wrote entertaining stories that speak to a variety of American children.
