Mrs. Arby and I (Long Islanders, not far from Oheka Castle) usually give $300 as a couple, more or less depending on how close we are with the couple. For a nicer place might push it higher. Oheka Castle is a nice place.

You have a job, I have a job. There's no reason for you to give me $100 when I get married and me to give you $100 when you get married.

Pretty sure Tay Tay filmed a music video here too. See if you can ride the horses she was riding.

This!

I've had friends who were getting married in the same year just decide to not waste a check since they were going to give the same amount back a month later.

I gave the same to my friends even though they were married several years later. Basically I got a nice interest free loan.

Wife calling, after the honeymoon: "Um, did you forget the interest?"

I do not adjust the gift given the venue.

I didn't convince anyone to have their reception at a place that's $150/plate or whatever.

Plus, I usually don't know who is paying for the wedding, so I don't know if I'm merely reimbursing the couple or if they are are now a couple hundred dollars richer.

Right? Giving cash is so silly.
