I have ncaa 08 on the 360, and the 60 vs 30 FPS definitely makes a difference. Which sucks because I feel like it always runs choppy now, but I love playing madden online.

pretty much for the same reason you state (60 vs 30 fps). Also b/c Sony has emphasized 1080p gaming on PS3 but we still only get 720. I picked up a PS3 b/c I really thought Madden 08 would be at least as good as the 360 version. I think I'm leaning towards returning it and picking up 360. Are 360's still having overheating issues?

mine has been fine....also, if you do pick one up, check out the packaging for the HDMI logo...some of the premium systems (with the 20GB hard drive) are being shipped out with HDMI ports now....of course, all the elite versions have HDMI

yes, they still have heating issues. I personally would wait until they release the new models with the chip that prevents them.

you have to remember that they've produced madden on the 360 a year longer than they have been on the PS3. I definitely believe that in the future, maddens will be the same, with the PS3 better if your TV supports 1080p.

why would the PS3 be better? the 360 supports 1080p gaming and the newer ones even have HDMI output....

My guess: PS3 is a significantly more powerful machine. Once developers learn how to utilize that power, PS3 will pull away from 360 in terms of visuals and speed.

The serious question is...will this "utilization of power" occur in time for Sony to show it off...or will it come "too late?"

exactly my point...I know the PS3 is a more powerful machine, but until that's actually utilized, you can't say that the 'the PS3 would be better if your tv supports 1080p'

just because rawl has YET to hook up his 360 to the internet at get the LAST OCTOBER update to have 1080p gaming, he fails to see the 360 as a 1080p capable machine

I only have 720p/1080i on my hdtv, so i can care less about hdmi. I chose components over hdmi for PS3 b/c of PS1/PS2 game issues.

and seeing that my 360 doesn't have an hdmi port, my PS3 will still look better.

If it's locked at 30 FPS, then I can't see how the framerate could possibly be a problem. 30 FPS is fine.
