some highlights of this weekend's adventuring (spoilered in case anybody wants to avoid it):

Spoiler:

- took down the legendary hind and bull. The wolf (level 36) is the next one on my list
- discovered the arena, killed a mercenary and a cultist there
- killed enough cultists to get my spear to level 5
- happened to score the Fanged Bow, where all damage is converted to poison damage.
that thing is OP and I love it.
- killed enough mercs to get to tier 4. I found it's super easy to wait for them in the sea, and just cleave their ship. you get all the loot without having to go hand 2 hand
- hit level 35
- story-wise, I met Myrinne and did the first set of quests for her. Now I'm on a mission to find my dad
Isn't AC the same shit over and over again like CoD?

yes and no. The story is compelling, the fighting is actually pretty fun (for me anyways). Some of the side quest stuff (like tracking down members of a cult that you get info slowly leaked to you one clue at a time) is really enjoyable. And just ripping around Ancient Greece on a horse/boat and stopping to fight anybody that seems aggro is pretty damn cool.

They reinvented a bunch of the game mechanics for the last couple, but if you're not a fan, it's probably going to look like same old same old. and then you can go play something else.

Not everyone can pump out 10 completely special and unique Uncharted snowflakes.

2018 was basically the year of Naughty Dog for me but that's because I got the PS4 on Black Friday 2017. "Nowadays" they only make Uncharted, which is good but not amazing.

But please release The Last of Us 2... please oh please oh please...

Clinched the Grand Champion rewards (10 wins at Grand Champ rank) in Rocket League late Friday night. Dropped out of Grand Champ 3 different times since getting it the first time, but managed to stem the bleeding and get it back by not falling too far away. Super super pumped and relieved, spent a ton of time grinding and trying to improve, feels amazing to finally see it pay off. Will be happily sporting my Season 9 Grand Champion in game title once the season resets!

Been having some really strange input lag issues with PUBG lately. Making the game pretty much unplayable for me and I'm not sure what the culprit is. Basically I press a key and move in a direction, but when I let go my character continues to drift in the same direction for varying amounts of time after I let go. Makes character control extremely cumbersome as I basically feel like my character is drunk and not going where I am controlling it go. Haven't been able to find much information on this bug through searching. Might just reinstall the game and see what happens. It feels like it only started happening when I switched to a PS4 controller for Rocket League, so maybe I need to unplug it and do a full computer restart in order to play PUBG without any issues. TBD.

For what it is worth, this is definitely only an issue with PUBG, games like Bioshock Infinite and Sea of Thieves work fine still.

I played about 10 hours of D&D (2 separate campaigns). Unfortunately, this meant I could only play about 2 hours of AC:O

I'm up to level 22, and loving it, but I haven't had the time to get further. D&D may be slowing down as people are traveling, so hopefully I can play more.

Did anyone else get this from PlayStation? Pretty cool - 252 hours of play in 2018, 76 of which was Spider-Man (I wouldn't have guessed it was that high).

Neat... 147 hours of gameplay last year, with my top 3 accounting for over 80% of the total:

AC: Origins - 60 hours
Horizon Zero Dawn - 32 hours
AC: Odyssey - 28 hours
