I'm trying to shore up on when to use which model. For example, the model solution for the term life problem gives a concise three reasons why they are choosing classification trees over logistic regression for the TERM_FLAG variable modeling. I don't have the required reading, but am thinking about getting Regression Modeling with Actuarial and Financial Applications as an ebook last minute to add some knowledge on this. Does anyone have any other resources or recommendations on how to smarten up in this area last minute? I guess I could go back through the modules, but...blah.

Regarding decision trees, it looks like the term life model solution isn't going into detail as far as the percent that may not fall into that category. They just share which class they fall into and the proportion of observations within that leaf. Should those details be glossed over?
