Exactly! The natural instinct would be to protect one's employer. Bonuses, stock awards, client business, etc. are a result of the employer's financial success, not the ASB's success! Most people would be more likely to lobby in secret for their own financial interests (via their employer).

One member told me he voted Yes on #1. So it won’t be unanimous.

Do you feel that he had a good reason? This thread has been very slanted towards No on #1, and I've been having a very hard time in my head trying to come up with a good and ethical reason why Yes would be a good vote.

Well, I suppose it would be a good idea to vote YES if you were on the Academy Board. After all, the Academy Board and even former Presidents seem to be supporting a YES vote.

Why? Total, absolute power and a firm belief that only you and others like you can be trusted to handle that great responsibility.

Have you noticed that most who question the wisdom of letting others have a say in things always start from a premise that those others who want a say are in the wrong or can't be trusted. That is their justification. It never occurs to them that they might be wrong.

Sometimes they think the opposition is just overly emotional and ill-informed.

This person believes that giving the board more control is more likely to produce better ASOPs, especially pension ASOPs.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I'm not quite sure I follow or agree, but at least there was a reason.

Got an update from Karen today, was funny reading with a cow-orker and the comments from MFM were familiar, cow-orker is like "Oh, did you talk to MFM about this, didn't know you knew her" and I'm like "um. Maybe I saw it in a different email? Um. Or something."

OK but, kind of the same thing - essentially wrong and not worth my time.
