Default Copy-Paste from Access table to Excel

Sometimes my access output is small enough to simply copy-paste into excel using ctrl-C. But when I paste it, the excel rows increase while the column width stays the same. This is an annoying feature cannot seem to fix. Anyone have an idea?

Thanks!

Can solve the expanding row but not the lack of expanding columns by pasting as text or csv format.

I do not want this to happen. I want the regular (default) row height and column width. in essence it is wrapping.

Right it does it when you paste it in. In excel on the ribbon click wrap text and it should unwrap. IIRC I have to click wrap text twice.

Keystroke sequence to paste...

[Alt] E(dit) S(pecial) T(ext) [Enter]

or

[Alt] E(dit) S(pecial) C(sv) [Enter]

...does the trick for me.

I use

[Alt] E(dit) S(pecial) U(nicode) [Enter]

However, this will not adjust the column widths, it just stops that horrible wrapping. Then you can manually adjust the column widths as needed.
