![]() what are you talking about?
University of Toledo? University of Texas? University of Tennessee? University of Toronto? University of Tampa? Univerity of Tulsa? No one knows what PEY stands for either. My guess is that if you posted this in the right subforum someone would know what you're talking about. |

![]() i dont think a lot of companies post anything through that program. Your best bet is a regular 4 or 8 month internship during the summer or during the school year. I wouldnt rely on PEY, i think they only have 1 actuarial employer through that program

![]() wow sounds really tough, please tell me more here:
how much students are in it?? Is it that competitive? i mean if you got a couple of exams, wouldn't that make you a good candidate somehow? i thought its a very good way to do experience, i mean 16 months is really valuable. and how would anyone be able to do internships during the school year? don't you have classes during the day? In my experience, PEY had only one actuarial position in 2011-2012 which was Munich Re. I did the interview, but you are competing with other actuarial students from other universities, mostly UWaterloo. PEY is mostly for engineering students but there are more stat-related jobs posted recently. PEY is equivalent to a coop term at UWaterloo, which means you will take 1 year off from university and have a job instead. However, lot of students are hired outside PEY job boards and university also approves of this approach. If you really want a co-op term at UToronto, your chances will be much higher if you look for sources other than PEY. If you just want to see how PEY boards look like, i still recommend you to pay the registration and get a few resume, interview, help sessions.. Join an act-sci club if you havent yet. They have more actuarial job postings. |
