A banana boat team could make sense in some sort of Terminator-esque situation where old LeBron travels back in time to 2009.

Maybe that's the plot of Space Jam 2.

Now, when lazy and disingenuous people try to claim ignorance, I'm 100% entitled to dismissing them as lazy or disingenuous. Hope it helps!

So why would they want to do this again?
Because no other big time FA is coming?
Because Lebron asks them to?
Because it will market well?
Because they don't have to give anything up to do it?
Because they could probably make the playoffs again?

How good would a prime banana boat team even be in today's NBA? Their best 3 point shooter would be the fourth best shooter on the Warriors.

Wade, LeBron, and Paul can at least play defense. Carmelo probably doesn't bring much value as the third scoring option. I'd sell him down the river for a defensive center in a heartbeat. We're talking prime players of the banana boat era so let's say... Tyson Chandler.

The Wade reunion in Cleveland lasted like 10 games. LeBron cares about winning more than he does playing with his friends for reasons that don't make basketball sense.

Didn't Lebron ask the Lakers about picking up Carmelo last year? Kind of fell through when Lebron sat out the remainder of the season?

I just don't see Lebron winning in LA. No one wants to go to that dumpster fire.

Yeah, I think winning was Lebron's goal in Cleveland. Doesn't at all seem clear that's his purpose of going to LA.
