Why do trolling posts get way more responses then the non trolling ones?

Because responding to a serious post asking for advice means that you could be partially responsible (at least indirectly) for someone making a decision they regret later... and you have to actually come up with something useful to say

Antagonizing trolls has very few (if any) consequences, and is usually more entertaining.
