This guy while wearing his seat belt got pulled over for not wearing his seat belt ... but the dashcam saved the day!

I have been considering getting one that records inside, and also the speedometer. My main concern so far though was having video in case of a crash, not dealing with cops.

Where was this? Might have been me. Luckily, the motorcycle behind me followed the car and reported the plates, so I did get covered by their insurance eventually.

On the topic of dash cams, I'm going to start looking now too. After going through all the hassle last year with police statements and realizing how very lucky I was to have several eye witnesses and have their statements align with mine, I would much rather know I can just show a video. If anyone hears of anything new coming out, let me know. I'll check out the suggestions in this thread and hit up some google/youtube reviews.

It was just south of Boston. I don't think it was you, there weren't other motorcycles around.

Fortunately the car turned into a golf course, so even with my horrible description ("um, it was a car") I think they found the person. I got some paperwork a few months later implying there was a lawsuit going on.

My repeated hints around Father's Day didn't pay off, so I might look into this for myself for Christmas.

Don't be ridiculous, you don't just have a car one moment, and a golf course the next.

I want one that is tiny, has front and back in one, is wireless and has an app or easy to share. Does that even exist?

I think everything currently on the market requires power cables and, if you want a rear-view camera (as opposed to an interior view camera), a cable to connect front-and rear.

However the Dride Zero that I mentioned ordering as a Kickstarter much earlier in the thread (arrived a couple of weeks ago, but haven't gotten around to installing it), I selected because of it's small, discrete form factor, and one-touch wireless sharing through the phone.

That means that if I had had the camera installed in my car, I could have become YouTube-famous by posting a video of a dog house flying out of the back of a pickup truck into the highway, right in front of me....
