I also just realized that according to the SOA directory, there are all of 11 actuaries in the entire city of Rochester, and I'd bet that opportunities in other financial fields aren't much better off. So it makes sense as to why UofR goes the research disciplines path...

Actually UofR has already taken over as the top employer in the city.

Without the UofR, Rochester would just be a bumhole.

They just keep poppin' us out.

FYI on the UR Alumni Network, there are a good 15-20 actuaries.

Default Hello.

Not an Alumni, but a Rochester resident. Considering taking courses from U of R for my VEE credits.

U of R coursework for VEE credit? It is much cheaper, easier, and takes less time to just take the NEAS online courses, especially if you are taking ECO 207, 209, or 231.
