We need more examples that produce 4000 lines of output.

when I try to load to library, I get this message:

Error in library(stringi) : there is no package called ‘stringi’

And a similar thing occurs when I'm attempting to use the 4.2.RMD file's call to the caret library:

Error: package or namespace load failed for ‘caret’ in loadNamespace(i, c(lib.loc, .libPaths()), versionCheck = vI[[i]]): there is no package called ‘stringi’

It's as if the SOA checkpoint package doesn't include stringi

Maybe you should try install.packages("stringi") first before running library(stringi).

Not sure if it will work but it is worth a try

I checked mine - it does include stringi package (as well as caret). Did you save all the rmd files in checkp5 folder? When you open RStudio, does the top right corner show the current project is checkp5?

It should work, but we supposedly don't have to do that if we follow the setup instruction in module 1. And we won't be able to install any packages during the exam.

I "started" in February, and by that I mean I've been piddling around with the first two or three modules and getting used to the RStudio interface a bit.

Will start full time studying probably later this week.

Just finished modules guys! One thing I am wondering from looking at June's sitting is that they did not allow us to use ridge/lasso regression and bagged/boosted trees... which is like 90% of the technical material. There was also no PCA/clustering component, so I wonder if this will be the main topic of our sitting.

Not sure if this'll be true for a smaller dataset but if you tried to run an RF at prometric last time you'd crash the computer... I'd like to think that they'll test more complicated models eventually but there's definitely a barrier there
