Only 4 and 8 gigs? What kind of movie format do they play back? Is that expandable? (micro sd?)

Not available in my neck of the woods. And it isn't even UMTS or HSDPA.

Darn. Looks like you can't watch embedded quicktime videos on the iPhone. That might be a deal-breaker for me. I wanted to test out our website on the phone.

Maybe there will be either an update/patch/or crack that lets you. although, you would probably want the average consumer to be able to watch them and the average cosumer probably isn't going to be able to update/patch/ or crack the greatest.

I assume that the reason that embedded video might not be supported is because the bandwidth is too limited for effective streaming. Probably a better solution is to provide videos as downloads.

In Safari, it is possible to use the Activity window to download embedded/streaming videos that are not normally downloadable; e.g., YouTube videos, and other media formats. I do not know if the iPhone's version of Safari will allow similar functionality.

"No, Moslems don't believe Jesus was the messiah.

Think of it like a movie. The Torah is the first one, and the New Testament is the sequel. Then the Qu'ran comes out, and it retcons the last one like it never happened. There's still Jesus, but he's not the main character anymore, and the messiah hasn't shown up yet.

Jews like the first movie but ignored the sequels, Christians think you need to watch the first two, but the third movie doesn't count, Moslems think the third one was the best, and Mormons liked the second one so much they started writing fanfiction that doesn't fit with ANY of the series canon."

While such a feature isn't standard in IE it can be done. Not waving an MS banner just sayin that I don't think that is unique to safari.

As mentioned above and below, unless they update the phone to have a 3G radio (EDGE, HSDPA, etc) you probably wouldn't want to wait for streaming video to load. On the other hand, it does have WiFi, so I guess you could get it that way.

All in all, this sounded like a rush job from the beginning. Between the lack of 3G, lack of swappable battery, the AT&T exclusivity, the Apple-controls-everything mentality, and the lack of a proper keypad, I have a hard time believing this thing will be any more than the next Play Station 3. Everyone oohing and ahhing, only the hardcore spending that kind of money, and update after update trying to get the thing up to par...
