The bad guy still shot three people and the abundance of "good guys" carrying did nothing to help the situation.
Very interesting assumption . . . care to comment on why you believe that this assumption is reasonable?

Also, what are the details surround this altercation? On what criteria are you basing the judgment of who is the "bad guy" and who are the "good guys"?

The bad guy is the one who pulled a gun and shot three unarmed people during a verbal altercation. The "good guys" are the bystanders that had CCs on them. Not sure what other details are relevant...

A close friend frequents the bar in question and personally knew two people who were present during the incident and confirmed that they were carrying. The bar probably had close to 200 guests when the incident occurred, so I think a dozen CCs is a pretty reasonable (maybe low) assumption.

Absent of my extrapolated evidence, I consider it reasonable to assume at least 6% of patrons in a bar in Texas are carrying a concealed pistol. How many people do you know that live in Texas? I think half the women I know there carry a .380 in their purse.

Any more questions?

Fine. Be semantic.

Instead of saying an ugly, ugly world, see if this is more to your liking: It's an ugly, ugly thing that sometimes in this world of your own choosing that we live in, someone pulls out a gun and starts murdering people until they are put down by someone with a gun.

You can believe that to be beautiful, if that's how you make your world.

"For bars or a businesses that make 51 percent of their money from the sale of alcohol, all guns are banned – even if you have a concealed handgun license."

Methinks the CCW holders may have violated laws

You mean to tell me that some pro-gun CC holders broke the law?

The same people who want more guns in schools, churches, and public buildings don't leave their pistols in their trucks when stopping for a beer?

I'm... just... shocked!

BTW, Wig...

The bar was a sports bar that's pretty family-friendly. The CC holders probably audited their financials to make sure food sales were their primary revenue source before going all rogue and bringing their guns inside. Most texans are pretty thorough when it comes to following the letter of the law w.r.t. to their carry pistols.

Now yer talkin. Risk assessment and mitigation, that's a measurable thing.
