Exam 6 seems very excel-able to me. All the math is fine in excel, and the word problems...well what's wrong with typing?

from some of the CAS' comments at the Annual Meeting, I don't think Excel is going to be the only format for TBE exams. They talked about incorporating Word or other programs in the future

I would be surprised if R wasn't used in the future for Exam 8. Being able to read R output was testable on Exam S, so this seems like a logical next step for the GLM section.

Typing free form answers is fine, imo. But if you're going to make me use Excel, you might as well make me do my work with a hammer and chisel because that software became obsolete a long time ago and no forward-thinking actuary actually uses it.
