Default MAAA Approval Progress Thread

Hey, I've got a question. How detailed does our letter of reference need to be for our application? Like, does all it have to say is:

CS knows his stuff, signed, supervisor

?

It should probably have some more detail, like the supervisor's name, credentials, etc.

I can't answer for sure but my impression is that it's a formality.

Also, I don't remember needing a letter of reference for MAAA. Is that a new(ish) requirement. (I've been MAAA for nearly a decade )

Yeah you need the letter, and a personal statement that answers a bunch of questions that could be answered with a resume.

If you've been in the US for at least three years, you won't need a letter.

One more stupid question, is snail mail the only way, or is there an online application that I'm missing?
