Reminds me of a catastrophe that occurred when I was an actuarial student in the early 70s. We were using a PDP-11 computer that had a disk full of important data, and we had a new guy running a program. When he started up, he was asked, "Do you want to Initialize?". Oh, he thinks, do I want to begin? Sure! Well, that command initialized the disk - wiped the sucker clean! That poor guy spent 3 full weeks reentering data.

No, fortunately, I wasn't the new guy.

I failed to add that the poor guy had to do punch cards first to feed data into the PDP-11. The punch machines were made in the 1950s. Any time we wanted to use the mainframe, we had to send down punch cards. If new cards were needed, WE had to create them on those ugly machines!

i hate when it just disappears and doesn't even give you that hope that autorecover might have gotten something.

Not a crash, but funny nonetheless. . . I wanted to unmerge all cells on a sheet but accidentally merged the entire sheet into a single cell. Never done that before.

/sigh, copy pasted a survey set (450,000+ samples with 8 variables)
It was trying really hard for four minutes, then shut everything off.

I should really just bring my home computer to do this.

Words cannot describe such things in terms understood by human users. How big is an atom? The universe? The hyperbolic license I take here?
