For whatever it's worth: Google has a sale running this week for $200 off Pixel 3 and 3XL.

That was enough to get me to finally pull the trigger and arrange a trade-in of my Pixel 1 and its failing battery. Without discount, the Pixel 3 is too expensive to justify given my needs.

But not having to deal with locked phones and OEM/Carrier crapware is worth a bit of a premium to me.

interesting. cricket on oneplus phones and we never had hotspot problems
