Default Correlation between IA and FA pass

I'm trying to determine how much my success on the IA will play into the FA. I passed the IA on my first shot. For those of you who have passed the FA, how did it compare to the IA in terms of difficulty? How many tries did it take you to pass IA? How many for FA?

They are completely separate. I passed my IA the first try with much less effort than I failed my FA with the first time. I passed the FA my second try.
Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.

Passed my IA on the first try and didn't think that it was very difficult. I am waiting for results on my second FA attempt (not looking good).

I passed my IA on the first try and for the amount of time I was given on the FA I put in A LOT more effort for the FA. I'm currently waiting for my result from the 2nd time I took the FA

IA tests you the Module 1 - 6 material and the questions are fairly straight forward. FA is more like a real life project thing that not only test you the Module material but also to see if you can apply it to real life. I passed both in first try. I enjoyed FA a lot more than I did to IA, but the waiting was horrible!!!!!! I mean constantly checking for the FA results for 6 days were not fun. I'd rather take exams than doing the FAP.

Here's some correlation for you.
- Passed IA on 6th attempt
- Taking FA a 5th time
How to explain actuarial exams to someone else...

Good Einstein quote - "One had to cram all this stuff into one's mind for the examinations, whether one liked it or not. This coercion had such a deterring effect on me that, after I had passed the final examination, I found the consideration of any scientific problems distasteful to me for an entire year."

Passed IA first try. Failed FA three times so far. For me there are two main differences. One, the IA is a lot of short questions - the FA is one huge project and the individual tasks are all interrelated so you have make sure it all hangs together. Two, the short turnaround time on FA is what is killing me. As a writer, I'm the kind of person who needs to write the whole thing then let it sit for a while and come back to it with fresh eyes in order to see inconsistencies, etc. There's no opportunity to do that with the FA.
