Did not know that was an actual thing. I have vivid memories of my next-door grandma calling us on certain days in the winter and telling us that it was too cold/windy/snowy for her to go out, but she saw the mail arriving and asking us to go get her mail RIGHT NOW. Mom told us the reason why but she always rolled her eyes like it was paranoia.

Basically, yeah. We were certainly banking on the anypia calculator being correct, and from what Steve's link and Bruce are saying, it might not have been.
