Nevermind, just checked the syllabus. Says there will be a "few" pilot questions.

Apparently there will be some pilot questions on this STAM exam. https://www.soa.org/Files/Edu/2018/2...am-syllabi.pdf

Quote:
As part of the computer-based testing process, a few pilot questions will be randomly placed in the exam (paper and pencil and computer-based forms). These pilot questions are included to judge their effectiveness for future exams, but they will NOT be used in the scoring of this exam. All other questions will be considered in the scoring.
ETA:ninja’d. But I’ve quoted the syllabus here for all to see.

Looking for someone's opinion....Would the ASM 18th Edition of C/4, as well as ADAPT, be enough for this exam? I have P&C Textbook as well. I am just trying to get a feel if I need to buy a supplementary study manual for the new 25% of the syllabus regarding P&C Loss Reserving and Pricing.

Can anyone who's taken it share their experience on the new material? Was it like the SOA questions/ADAPT, and approximately how many of those questions did you get?

For those who've taken STAM or are still studying, I have found Adapt questions to be very very different than TIA practice tests (I can get 25-30 on an Adapt 7, but only 10-15 on a TIA test), is the test more likely to similar to Adapt exams or TIA exams?

The test from the previous sitting was more like Adapt, don't waste your time on TIA. Focus on Adapt.

This post is borderline, since the CBT testing window is still in progress. It would not be OK to explain how it is like Adapt.

I have not yet taken the exam myself, this analysis is based on the fact that last sitting was closer to adapt. Changed my original post to reflect that.
