MissionFCAS,

In part (iv) of the solution we are finding
the conditional cumulative hazard rate to
time y3 given that the individual had survived
to time y1. Since it is assumed that the individual
is alive at time y1, we start measuring mortality
from that point, so the cumulative hazard function
would be based on the numbers of deaths and
the numbers at risk for the death points after time y1.

Kudos to Cujo, who has led Canada to a 2-1 win
