Default What if a Jew eats non-kosher food?

Serious question.

What if a Jew eats some non-Kosher food, either on purpose or by mistake?

Is there some sort of punishment? Self-imposed?

(as this Christian eats a pork chop with a side of clam chowder)

As long as they don't eat it after midnight, they shouldn't start cocooning imo

In modern times? Nothing, obviously. You would just need to do "teshuva", or atonement. As with all things, see the wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repentance_in_Judaism

During the times of the Temple, if you ate non-kosher food accidentally you'd have to bring a special sacrifice to the Temple in Jerusalem to atone.

If you did it willfully the punishment is 40 lashes (really 39).

Nothing. It's not part of the Catechism. Merely tradition.

Most Jews I know don't bother with kosher laws. My standards are not as strict as those of Orthodox Jews, and I didn't even start observing the laws till I was in my late 20s anyway so I know I won't get struck down if I relax my standards on a given day.
