Post 2000, but prior to 2006, you needed courses 5 and 6 which I heard were very difficult. Fap replaced them. I bet you have no clue what those exams were like.

As someone with an IQ of 170 (official from a facebook IQ test) I am glad I got away with taking this exam in Spring 2017. Don't think I'd have a chance now so I don't think it's an exaggeration

Today's pool of candidates are significantly stronger than the ones from 20 years back. Even as the problems got harder, the pass rates and the pts needed to pass have gone up.

You think all those job rankings placing actuaries as the best job in america didn't affect the pool of candidates?

well, the most recent exam I took was FAP and I took it this year and it was the easiest 2 exams I've ever taken and didn't exist until 2006, so...

a lot of people who couldn't pass the old courses 5 and 6 went on to get ASA via FAP. the old courses 5 and 6 were more difficult.
